Hello My Magical Mystery Tour Bus-Mates,
Ed foundation news!! Round 2 deadline is May 27. Apply for your free MONEY.
Stay up to date here. Wherever you choose to go, just don't go nowhere man.
Here comes the sun doo-dun-doo-doo - sun sun sun here it comes :)
The lawn is mowed (phew), the sun is shining, the geese have flown the river (boohoo), and the blue jays and woodpeckers are all over the place! A blue jay was literally knocking on my door yesterday, it must have smelled the cookies! I guess that's just the blue jay way. But the big blackbird[s] are still the bosses of the yard. And [these] bird[s] can sing. It's especially nice around dusk when I get a private concert.
I want to tell you thanks to all who replied with your choices. You have not been a bad boy (girl)! I also want to thank those of you who actually write and tell me what's going on with you and how you're doing and spending your time. I appreciate it.
If you did not reply, and you're passing the course, you will automatically be a #2 - meaning the marks from term 1 and 2 will form the basis for your final mark. Check your report card and you'll see your summative average to have an idea for your final mark. If you can't get this, just email me for your approximate mark. For you the year is over; you can just let it be. But, it's not too late to join the 3s or 4s.
If you are a number 1 (failing the course) and did not reply or engage with the work this week (or class / chat today), you will fail the course. Please see your report card to see your summative average so far, that will be your final mark. There is no summer school, so please register for Adult Ed if you want to continue to graduate. It may be a long[er] and [more] winding road but you can totally do it. School is always there for you if you need it to get you want to go.
If you're a number 3 or 4, you know waz up (cause you're getting another email, oh joy!)
If you need any information or help!, I'm here any time at all all you gotta do is email...
Do you want to know a secret, I may not have strawberry fields forever, but I was really appreciating the dandelions the other day, and how their yellow really danced on the fresh green of the grass after the rain. I know they're weeds, but they are quite pretty. #smallpleasures. I also get a free show every day with the dance of the dust bunnies on the floor because well, who feels like vacuuming? Ain't nobody got time for dat! (or I'm a loser). But my crossword puzzle, soup and grilled cheese game is top notch. Started watching the Finnish scandi-noir series Bordertown. It took me a while to get over the dubbing, but I'm into it now. And that's just a day in the life of Sauve. Besides working for you people.
Say, if you've had a birthday while we've been off, or will have one soon (like me), and you won't get the pleasure of the class signing to you and turning your cheeks red (plus my awesome voice). Here's to you: Happy Birthday.
Reminder: We are working on ideas for your grad and prom. Do not worry. We will figure out a way to come together and celebrate you all. Guaranteed when I'm 64, I will still remember your class and it won't be because of the pandemic. It'll be because you're smart, interesting, kind, because you work hard, you're funny, you support each other, and you made me look forward to class. I miss you. You really got a hold of me. I truly look forward to seeing you again.
This is the end of this week's message. Until I write you again next week, I'll follow the sun, and I hope you join me. Every little thing in life certainly goes a little better when we're looking up. I mean if you look down you might trip, and you'll definitely miss what's going on around you. You can't do that! Because even now, there's a lot to be grateful for, if we just look. And gratitude deeply affects our mood and mental health.
So from me to you have a great week. I hope you have enjoyed this little Beatles break, or trying to work song titles into my message to you this week (kinda like when I did something similar with my 2-minutes talk). I've got a feeling we'll be catching up in person sometime soon, but in the meantime, just continue to be the awesome humans you are, staying as sane as possible and supporting the people you love.
Ms. Sauvé
